Part I — Parasite
We all carry things that cannot always be seen.
Parasite explores the invisible thoughts, emotions, and pressures that can slowly take up space inside us. The figure’s face is almost completely covered by layers of vivid colors, suggesting how overwhelming our inner world can become when thoughts, expectations, fears, and emotions pile on top of one another.
The colorful fragments can represent the many versions of ourselves that we show to the outside world—happiness, confidence, strength—while underneath, there may be confusion, exhaustion, or feelings we struggle to express.
The painting speaks to something many of us experience: looking fine on the outside while carrying something completely different inside.
Mental health is not always visible. Sometimes the person who seems the happiest is the one who needs someone to ask, “Are you really okay?
